The philosophy
A strong philosophy guides every element at Amaroo in the Byron Bay hinterland retreat to add to the land and take as little as possible. We are caretakers of this land, and our ethos is guided by our intimate relationship with our region.
We wanted to create a place where nature is cherished, views are grand, and time is ample.
The accommodation
Amaroo Bangalow offers exclusive luxury accommodation on the hills overlooking Bangalow, a mere 10 minutes from Byron Bay, perfect for couples and group getaways and luxury stays.
Our inaugural accommodation, Balaka, features three architecturally designed cabins, a loft-style unit, and a pavilion for gatherings. Whether you choose to book a single cabin for a cosy escape or reserve all four accommodations for a group experience, your booking ensures that you will have exclusive access to the entire property and its facilities. No other guests will be staying on the property during your stay. Balaka at Amaroo can host up to eight adults, six children, and two small pets (subject to application) within our fully fenced property.
Perched high on the hinterland ridge, the retreat sits on 213 acres of breathtaking farmland that boasts panoramic views complete with rolling hills and spectacular sunsets.
The experience
Amaroo Bangalow offers a truly rare luxury escape. Surrounded by a working cattle farm, it’s a place to reconnect and share in the land. You’re free to roam and explore. To do as much or as little as you like.
