of the land
When Mike and Cathy acquired the land many years ago, their primary goal was to restore it to its original state. The land had been used for grazing for four generations but had been sold and left uncultivated for years. Mike and Cathy took on the task of restoring it. They wanted to create something special for their families and others to enjoy.
They worked with local partners to eliminate invasive plants and reintroduce tens of thousands of native plants and trees. This in turn is attracting native wildlife and creating a more balanced ecosystem.
Today, Amaroo Bangalow focuses on reintroducing cattle and farming honey and eggs. However, it remains crucial to continue the restoration of native vegetation.
Guests are invited to immerse themselves in all that Amaroo Bangalow has to offer, from experiencing the pastoral cattle life to the flourishing native flora. We are proud to show you our ongoing efforts to rejuvenate and celebrate the land’s rich history.

Today the property is flourishing with native vegetation and wildlife. A meaningful partnership involving Mike and Cathy, Linda Sparrow of Bangalow Koalas, and Rossco Faithful of East Coast Bush Regeneration has guided the development of the land for generations to come.
